About us
The Royal Student Association Eumavia Lovaniensis (short “Eumavia”) is an association of East Belgian students, founded in 1926 in (Old-)Leuven and based today in Louvain-la-Neuve. Eumavia’s aim is to give East Belgian students in Louvain-la-Neuve a piece of home and to support them in university life. At the same time, it strives to preserve student and East Belgian cultural heritage and to present it in Louvain-la-Neuve. Last but not least, it also wants to be a connecting point in East Belgium toward Louvain-la-Neuve.
Our history
Activities
To achieve these goals, we organise a wide range of activities spread across the academic year. These activities, in which everyone may participate (whether “baptised” or not), include amongst others: soirées, Kneipen & Coronae, spaghetti dinners, sport tournaments, organising a Saint Martin parade, a cultural excursion and a cultural week, an annual founding celebration together with our Altherrenschaft (see below), participation in activities of the Fédération Wallonne des Régionales de l’UCL (Fédé), Kots-à-Projet, other student associations and much more!
Aktivitas
Membership
Membership in Eumavia extends beyond the active student years; afterwards, members can join the Altherrenschaft of Eumavia Lovaniensis. The Altherrenschaft organises, together with the Aktivitas (the active students), the annual founding celebration, a Saint Martin dinner in autumn and a spring excursion. Its goal is to maintain contacts and cohesion within Eumavia beyond the active student years, and to support the active students.
